Understanding and Facilitating the Healing and Regenerative Process

A Study by John Claydon D. Hom December 2002 update

This article has been written in order to convey the simple, yet crucial information to enable people to regain their health, so that their body can repair itself, and hence overcome any health disorder that has developed since birth.

All diseases are curable but only the body knows how, the body gets ill, the body heals itself. No single remedy either natural or artificial can be relied on to cure any named disease in all persons. If a particular therapy, supplement or herbal treatment improves the overall balance and wellness of the person, then an improvement in health sets in, often leading to an improvement, or even the disappearance of a particular disorder.

On the other hand, as is the thrust of this article, if we optimise the total integrity and functioning of our bodies, then all disease we suffer from, will not survive the maximised healing power of our harmonious and invigorated system.

This is no new, radical idea, but has been understood since time immemorial; as Hypocrites famously said:- “Let food be your medicine and medicines your food” Food medicines are the most powerful way of building health on a firm foundation, and the firm foundation is based upon the totality of the basic elements beneath our feet, the dust of the earth (“For man is built from clay”..Old Testament) These basic elements are the 90 minerals and trace elements that make up the earth’s crust. Once these are correctly put into place in an individual, the victory over disease and limitations to health and vitality has begun.
The proper and correct way to mineralise the body has not yet been grasped or understood by the lay public or by the nutritional experts, nor has its crucial role in underpinning and facilitating all forms of therapy, been adequately grasped.

As our soils become increasingly demineralised, so do we. Therapies that would have worked 50 or even 10 years ago are now becoming rapidly less effective as the degree of planetary and personal demineralisation increases, combined with chemical pollution of our food, and water. It is now a race against time to understand and solve these problems, and remineralise the soil with very fine rock dust. In the intervening years the methods discussed in this article are a way to personally overcome, a largely man made problem.

The particular methods and suggestions in this article, are offered here on the basis that this is vital information needed to be heard now, but does not represent the completed project I am engaged in, to develop the best possible general therapeutic/nutritional regime to serve as the foundation for health regeneration. Research is continuing to make available all that we are missing from the perfect natural situation, for example reintroducing ‘energy’ back into the liquid foods and water5 discussed in the article, to improve the energetic functioning of the system, whilst improving both nutrient and water assimilation at cell level.

Solving the Problem of Broad spectrum Mineral and Trace Element Deficiencies

the typical reasons for engaging in natural therapies/taking nutritional herbal or superfood supplements are as follows:-

  1. To relieve a particular symptom or illness that is recent in origin. These are called acute, e.g. sprained ankle or infectious episodes.
  2. To relieve a particular symptom or illness that is of longer duration. These are called chronic disorders; e.g. arthritis,
    stomach ulcer.
  3. To bring the overall health up to a higher level. This would include nervous system enervation, and conditions that affect the general functioning and energy such as chronic fatigue syndrome or M.E.
  4. To raise overall level of wellness and to continue this further to achieve some reversal of the degenerative process, to proceed with the regeneration of the health on a fundamental basis.
  5. To act as a preventative of future illness/disease, such as regular infections; circulatory disorders associated with the elderly and other degenerative diseases.

When we hope to eliminate a particular symptom/disorder, sometimes a course of herbal/nutritional/superfood supplementation will do the job. However, if we raise the overall level of health with various measures and/or a broad-acting supplement such as a superfood (e.g., spirulina, chlorella, wheat or barley grass, pollen) and also apply, if needed, a particular remedy, the chances of success are higher.
In fact we do not always need specific remedies to treat specific health problems. By raising the overall level of health, specific disorders often resolve themselves, and we have raised the health in a broader, more fundamental way. Given a full spectrum of nutrients, especially minerals and at least 20 trace elements, in our daily diet and water (there are 90 elements in the earth’s crust, or in sea water from whence we evolved) and provided we have sufficient clean water daily10, exercise and rest, the body has a wonderful ability to keep itself in tip top condition, and reverse any health problem that has developed since birth.

Unfortunately there is a gross deficiency of minerals and trace elements in our soils, and hence the crops and animals that the soil produces. This is mainly due to commercial farming methods. Even so-called organically grown food is usually deficient in minerals and trace elements, since unless rock dust or sea weed is added regularly to the soil there will be deficiencies. Several groups of people have been discovered who have regular full spectrum minerals/trace elements in their water and diet. This is due to glacial mountain streams. Minerals are freed from the earth’s crust by the grinding action of slow moving glaciers across rocks. The melt water contains a good concentration of colloidal minerals/trace elements. This shows itself as milky or cloudy river water. The natives drink this water, and their crops are grown on a soil irrigated with it. The Hunza people of Pakistan is one example. There is almost no sickness or disease, and the chronic killer diseases are almost unknown. It is common to live over 120 years, and more importantly, at this age, there is great vitality and an ability to work hard all day.

So how do we obtain a full spectrum of minerals/trace elements and all the vitamins and other nutrients we need, on a daily basis to optimise our health? I believe that once this question is fully resolved then there will be a revolution in health care/regeneration. How can this be done conveniently, without excessive financial outlay, in a way that can be integrated into our current lifestyle? How can we optimise our nutrient intake without recourse to diagnosis, or regular trips to a practitioner? (At present, I believe, there is no single or even combination of diagnostic methods available to show exactly what we need, as individuals. However, in nature a full spectrum supply will be the basis upon which the body will regulate its nutrient balance.) There are simple answers to these questions, but not yet in the form of a tablet or a capsule. (Regenerative Nutrition is currently engaged in a new production process concerning the fermentation of molasses resulting in a nutrient concentrate that will solve these problems ,and hopefully product will be available early 2003, please inquire) Full spectrum mineral, trace elements and all the required vitamins and other essential nutrients, in the correct form and combination cannot yet be synthesised in any laboratory or industrial process. However a combination of natural products, easily obtainable have been found to provide the answer.

The Answers

The bulk of the minerals and trace elements that enter into us are soluble, and some that are poorly soluble are rendered so, by digestive acids. In such a soluble state, mineral salts form into two halves, one the ‘cation’ with a positive charge, and the other an ‘anion’ with a negative charge, and as such they are referred to as ionic or electrolyte minerals, that regulate and supply electrical charge, as well as a myriad of functions underpinning the internal ecology. It is only in this form that they are able to enter into your billions of cells. In a natural situation the juices of fruits and vegetables, and for carnivores, the blood of animals, serves as the major source of the soluble minerals/trace elements. Also river water supplies a not insignificant amount, in particular forms and combinations. Provided the soil from which these ‘liquid’ foods come from is flooded by mineral-rich rivers, or supplied by glacial melt rivers, there will be an adequacy of up to 90 minerals, (many in exceptionally small amounts, but nevertheless having catalytic action).

Research in Norway with the growth and development of animals has scientifically proved that adding small amounts of a full spectrum of trace minerals (over 70 having been analysed in the test supplement used, derived from coal, i.e. ancient forest) the bulk minerals and other nutrition from food is far better absorbed to create healthy well developed animals, on what otherwise would have been a deficiency diet, even though the major minerals such as calcium were still inadequate in conventional terms1. Since our food, even most organic food, is trace element deficient, we will therefore not obtain the full benefits of the food we eat/drink. This would partly explain why persons consuming a diet seemingly high in major minerals such as potassium, calcium and magnesium will exhibit deficiency symptoms of the same. (Recent research with negatively charged hydrogen ions in ‘Hunza-type’ water, strongly suggests this improves nutrient assimilation8)
Nutritional ‘experts’ repeatedly state that we need certain amounts and relative amounts of, e.g., calcium and magnesium and other minerals ; always failing to take into account the role of the trace and ultra trace minerals in the equation. This is a reminder that if we look at things in isolation or partially we end up with partial truths.

Simple and effective measures we can take to remineralise

  1. Crude Black Molasses or Blackstrap Molasses.
This is made from sugar cane (‘Meridian Foods’ supply it in 1lb. jars, available in many health shops, they supply an ordinary and an organic one, if organic is not on the shelves, request they order some, but in the short term use what you can get.) The roots of the sugar cane grow as deep as 15 feet and therefore are able to receive a broad spectrum of minerals and trace elements normally lacking in the top soils. The bulk of the sugar is removed, leaving behind the exceptionally rich mineral/trace element cocktail, with a good selection of vitamins. The book Crude Black Molasses by Cyril Scott published by Benedict Lust Publications, is highly recommended reading2. This is one of those once-in-a-life-time gems of a book. One teaspoon in a cup of warm water before each meal (three times a day) is the method employed with astounding health benefits. Personally I take it at any convenient time and feel it works best on an empty stomach. Don’t expect good results on only one cup a day; quantity and persistent regularity is all important. Persons who cannot stand the taste may find it easier to swallow a teaspoonful amount straight from the spoon and wash down with hot water, or a hot drink.
Many people have overcome all sorts of serious, seemingly intractable health problems with molasses drinks alone! This includes cases of various types of cancer, osteo and rheumatoid arthritis, strokes, poor nervous system, skin disorders, bowel and digestive disorders; the list goes on and on. This is not at all incredible, If you have taken on board that acquired disease cannot exist in a body that receives the correct nutrition. If you find you cannot stomach a full teaspoon of molasses at first, then use smaller amounts, but several times over the day, or sip over a period of time. There are many people who would seemingly remain ill even to a premature death than drink something they don’t like the taste of. Are you one of these?
  2. Grape Juice (red is best)
Drink one glass a day, it works much better on an empty stomach, so first thing in the morning is best. See the article the Grape Cure. To really get a full idea of the restorative power of the grape, read The Grape Cure by Dr. Joanna Brandit2. Ordinary grape juice in 1 litre bottles or cartons available commonly in the shops is the juice employed, that has achieved good success. It is not organic, but the sprays used in the vineyards are not as toxic as that used on our grain or vegetable crops. Depending on the soil it is grown on it will have deficiencies in trace minerals, but will have a wealth of the major minerals in highly assailable form, and being of a different profile to molasses, would be a suitable adjunct.
  3. Sea Water
From whence we came, or our cells at least. Life is thought to have evolved in the sea, as the first micro-organisms evolved into single celled life forms, taking in the 90 minerals and trace elements ever present around them. Then groups of cells got together to act cooperatively. Eventually cells took on specialised roles and higher life forms developed; eventually leading to humans. We carry approximately 22 pints of ‘sea-water’ around with us (3 times as much as blood) in the form of extra cellular fluid, bathing our billions of cells. The ionic mineral composition of this fluid is almost identical to that of sea water, except sadly lacking in some of the trace elements. Taking one or two teaspoons a day of an inland (pollution free) sea water concentrate diluted in water has been found to have benefits on the health, and aiding in the integration of herbal and superfood therapy; the particular benefits that are not available by any other method presently found. For more discussion on this read The Essential Health Benefits of Sea Water2 The ionic mineral and trace element profile is complementary opposite to food state ionic minerals, such as grape juice or molasses, and therefore, to obtain a complete balance, this is highly recommended. Furthermore, sea water is the only guaranteed source of ionic minerals that contain all the trace elements. It has been found that if the sea water is mixed with molasses or fruit drinks, the action is deeper, and sooner or later will pull the chi too low, so the advice is to take concentrated sea water drinks at least an hour apart from molasses or fruit drinks.

It has been found that some persons have a special need for supplementation daily of the particular mineral profile in sea water, but it may prove to be universally helpful, to a greater or lesser degree. Dr. F. Batmanghelidj has come to the conclusion that many health disorders are due mainly to chronic dehydration, and in fact most of us are chronically dehydrated, and it is this fact that contributes to aging; as our cells and our DNA spirals dehydrate we deteriorate. He also came to the conclusion that as part and parcel of the rehydration process we need about half a teaspoon of salt daily, if we are not obtaining a fair amount from other sources. He goes on to explain that the body retains salt when it is chronically dehydrated to help force fluid into the cells, this involves some rise of blood pressure. The body prioritises its needs; salt is not causing the high blood pressure, it is dehydration! Many health disorders can clear up with increasing the water drunk and salt consumed. A classic example of this is asthma, Batmanghelidij suggests that most cases of asthma will disappear with this method.

The mineral composition of sea salt is considerably inferior to sea water, since the sodium chloride crystalises out of solution first and the other minerals are largely washed away, before evaporation takes place. For example sea salt is typically 97 to 99.5% sodium chloride with a magnesium content from 0.04 to 0.005%. Sea water (mineral proportions) contains typically 86% sodium chloride and 4% magnesium along with smaller amounts of all the minerals/trace elements released from the earth’s crust (90 in total) So the composition of sea salt is very different to that of sea water. Even Dr. Batmanghelidj talks about the ocean surrounding our cells, but fails to realise the superiority of supplemental sea water to sodium chloride. The best sea salt I have encountered is called Celtic sea salt.2 This unique salt contains about ten times as many trace minerals plus magnesium as a typical sea salt, relative to the sodium Chloride. It therapeutic effects have been studied for many years by Professor Jacques de Langre Ph.D., and his book Sea Salts Hidden Powers is highly recommended 2. Sea water contains four times the trace minerals and magnesium relative to the sodium chloride, and as such is the most balanced product, but the celtic sea salt is a cheaper option, especially for the whole family added to food. It improves the taste of food quite considerably. The Sea water concentrate is used more ‘ medicinally’ by mixing with a glass of water.

These three measures are probably the best advice on nutrition you will ever read, and should form the foundation of any health regime; so before you go to any therapist, or start any other remedy, start this program first. I have met many patients who simply cannot get well, in fact become worse when given the best selected herb’s, nutritional supplements or superfoods. They often go from therapist to therapist, and also usually take a whole cocktail of natural remedies, still failing to get well. The reason is simple: unless the basic rehydration and nutritional foundation is established, the effect of stimulating the system with new energies and or specific remedies, will be to destabilise the system further, the more potent the remedy, the more powerful the therapy, the greater will be the ‘trauma’ applied. (You wouldn’t ask a person without legs to walk, and no amount of encouragement will succeed.) The type of person who will experience these problems most, in my experience, are those with a weak nervous system (with or without being labeled as neurasthenic) and some types of M.E.; also delicate cases and those of a weak constitution. Conversely, the strong constitutional types can usually take comparatively large doses of herb’s/ superfoods and do well on them.

It should be noted that herbal therapy developed before modern farming methods, and although soils had various types of mineral/trace element deficiencies at various locales, there was not such a degree or diversity of mineral soil depletion. So it was generally in this situation, of strong ‘peasant stock’, that herbalism evolved in the four continents of the globe. The Chinese herbalists realised that the best herb’s for long term use for raising the overall health, rather than first aid measures, were the ‘herb’s’ most closely resembling foods. Today much scientific research3 has revealed the dynamic power of the ‘superfoods’ Spirulina and Chlorella. These are like herb’s in the fact they contain potent phyto-nutrients, or phytoseuticals as they are now being labelled, synergistically combined with a very concentrated mix of virtually every known (and unknown?) vitamin, mineral and trace element. However since they are very stimulating and detoxifying, whilst not supplying a sufficiently large volume of soluble minerals/trace elements, the three liquid mineral/trace element foundation drinks are still required. The important point to note, without getting bogged down with a wealth of information about their wonderful potential total health benefits, is that they are stimulating, in a sense, like the best total vitamin supplement, that cannot yet be synthesised artificially, and that they are complementary opposite, in all practical senses (from an energetic standpoint) to ionic mineralisation, e.g. the three drinks described.

Colloidal Minerals
These seem to be the most misunderstood minerals around! There is plenty of false information circulating about them. First, colloidal minerals are not able to be taken inside the cell, and are not the main form of minerals found in food, (ionic or electrolytes are). They would poison us if they were absorbed into the cells since they contain large proportions of aluminum. They are not electrolyte minerals. They are not organic; organic means that which is bound to carbon, and in practice, this means bound to protein i.e. chelated minerals. If there is no protein or carbon in the colloids, they are not organic.

There is virtually no scientific study of the role of colloidal minerals in the human ecology. However, if we look to nature, we see that the milky mineral rich streams that keep the Hunza people so incredibly healthy and long lived, are full of mainly colloidal minerals. These are ground up rocks, the particles are exceptionally fine, and can remain in suspension. In this situation a type of electrical charge is present, (according to researchers including Patrick Flanagan M.D. the inventor of Microhydrin) which has been described as ‘zeta’ potential. Patrick Flanagan along with other researchers have established, with a fair degree of certainty, that it is the amount of negative charge attached to mineral colloids in the regular drinking water of a population, that is the main determinate of longevity and health. The health of the Hunza people is due to directly drinking this water, and to absorbing the ionic minerals from the food they eat, which is grown on the soil fed by glacial melt water. Colloidal minerals, caused by glaciation and weathering, are abundant; they are not confined to glacial melt streams. The ice age has left vast amounts of full spectrum colloidal minerals under our very feet. It is clay! 4 Clay contains (varying to some extent on the type of rocks involved in its origin) a balance of minerals representing that which is contained in the earth’s crust, the most plentiful mineral being silica.
Clay has a history of use by animals and humans in healing over thousands of years, and in the past vegetables with soil still clinging (soil contains varying amounts of clay with the organic humus) all went into the pot.

The effects and qualities of action of clay in suspension elucidated to date include:- Detoxification soon after the first dose, without causing any stress to the nervous system probably due to a releasing action, e.g. head cold, in the case of congested lungs, production of phlegm etc., a rapid improvement in the fluid cycle, i.e. increase in desire for water, increased urination, relief of ‘trapped’ energy, initially encouraging sleep, (and supporting good quality sleep in the long run) and later improving stamina. Example symptoms would include mild, fleeting arthritic aches and stiffness, (presumably related to the overall ‘picture’ of remineralisation, especially constellated around silica), aches in ineffecient/toxic organs e.g. mild kidney ache, (not an overloading of kidneys, but a healing reaction setting in only a few days after the milligram doses were commenced) in the case of that ‘prover’, this was experienced in the past’. Clay has the ‘ability’ to rapidly locate toxic sites and draw out the toxins, that have not been eliminated with the prior use of superfoods (e.g. Chlorella). The experience of clay is quite remarkable, as its effects are so distinctive, Its historical use as a cleanser, employs typically one teaspoon in a glass of water twice daily, taken for two weeks on, one week off. So using this method one would consume nearly half a pound in a two week period. Using small amounts of clay, as one would obtain naturally, from a rapid river or stream after a period of intense rain, would give a cloudy appearance to water. The amount of clay thus consumed is a fraction of that consumed by the traditional method of internal clay therapy.

A form of clay known as Pascalite appears to have even stronger healing and restorative effects that the type of clay generally used for healing. This is currently under investigation to find its place in a regenerative regime. As regards the ongoing discussion about the possible problem of aluminum in colloidal mineral products; aluminum is the third most plentiful element in the earth’s crust and therefore, the soil. It is common in foods e.g. one large potato contains 20 milligrams of aluminum. In chemistry, toxicity is all about the form elements are in. Soluble forms of aluminum are toxic e.g. aluminum sulphate. Common salt, is sodium and chlorine bound together to form sodium chloride; split them apart and a deadly green gas, used in the trenches, of the first world war called chlorine is released, and a soft metal that catches fire when placed in water!

Another form of rock dust that is used therapeutically is a softer rock dust than clay, and had ‘paramagnetic’ properties (increases the earth’s local magnetic field, but not having a magnetic field of its own)
This is a type of volcanic rock and is mined in Austria Originally called Schindles’s minerals (after Robert Schindele who discovered its therapeutic use) is also known as superbiomin. This rock dust is taken as one teaspoon in a glass of water once or twice daily. It is less cleansing that clay, and better at remineralising, i.e is more nutritional. It is interesting to note that volcanic rock dust is the best type of rock dust to stimulate and sustain healthy plant growth. There are many amazing health recovery stories of persons taking the Superbiomin from (Available Regenerative Nutrition) The book Superbiomin by Robert Schindele is worth reading pub Ennsthaler ISBN 3 85068 285 4 (Available Regenerative Nutrition)
It is interesting to note in the old homeopathic books, that silica, is about nutrition/malnutrition. It is the element that aids nutrition, and builds up the endurance and the strength of the constitution (silica is plentiful in soluble/ionic form in molasses, and available in concentrated form in a supplement known as Bamboo Tabashir, available from Regenerative Nutrition). I can’t help feeling that silica is a kind of ‘mother’ element around which the others interplay in the ecology of the body, since as in the earth, as in the body. The reason this is not so obvious is that silica is regarded as a minor trace element, and not required in any quantity like the major minerals of calcium, magnesium, etc. However, it is not all about quantity. Minerals have a strong vibrational output, i.e. they appear to work homeopathically. If we drink from a healthy wild river (when was the last time you did that?) there will be some clay/colloid particles in there, especially if the river is in flood.

So it is the natural order of things to take in small amounts of clay or other naturally occurring forms of rock dust in water. The trouble with many of the colloidal minerals now on the market, is that they are the result of rare geological processes, that produce a colloidal mineral profile, very different to that found in rivers, e.g. virtually all the silica is absent. In the last year or so a major supplier of those colloidal minerals realised that the claims about 100% absorption could not be maintained, and that the ionic form was better absorbed . This resulted in the company dissolving those colloids in fulvic acid, and claiming they now had a leading edge nutritional supplement. However there are complex mechanisms involving the absorption, buffering and balance of mineral/trace elements that have taken millions of years to develop. For example when potassium is present in foods, it is present primarily in the form of potassium phosphate, sulphate and chloride. A similar situation occurs with all the minerals/trace elements we consume. To absorb potassium mainly in the form of potassium fulvate will eventually lead to imbalance and relative deficiency of the associated mineral groups that were not present ,but should be , e.g. phosphate, chloride, and sulphate.

So we are reminded to study nature, and provide ourselves with what we are missing from nature as much as we can. Some times we need to fall back on extracts, e.g. living indoors and in a northern latitude, we do not obtain enough sunlight to produce sufficient vitamin D for our well being. Vitamin D can increase the absorption of calcium and other minerals to a lesser extent in quite a dramatic way. Supplementing with a natural form of vitamin D e.g. extracted from fish is therefore an important part of a nutritional programme. Dr. Carl Reich and latterly Robert Barefoot discuss the result of over 25 years of clinical experience is using the correct levels of vitamin D in conjunction with calcium and magnesium to overcome acidity at cell level, which is one of the major factors in chronic illness and degenerative disease. The Book The Calcium Factor by them (ISBN09633703-2-4) is worth reading. However, in spite of the great following and good results obtained with coral calcium (so enthusiastically pushed by Robert Barefoot) my own personal experience with my health and seeing this also in friends and clients, shows us that Molasses especially if taken alongside ionic minerals and trace elements i.e. Inland sea water produces even better results. (e.g remaining sick in some ways while taking coral calcium, but rapid improvement when switching to molasses) Molasses contains large amounts of calcium and magnesium plus silica plus all the other minerals and trace elements, as discussed, in ionic form.

It is worth noting that for years I have studied nutritional therapy, biochemic tissue salts, ‘celloid’ mineral therapy, conventional mineral therapy, and have also made a personal study in herbalism, whilst qualifying and practicing in homeopathy. I believe the matters discussed herein, concerning mineral therapy are a vast improvement on any SYSTEM involving diagnosis and prescription of individual or groups of minerals/trace elements.

Why Do We Suffer from Chronic Health Disorders ?

Apart from deficiencies discussed, the reasons for chronic illness have a history, from an hereditary standpoint, as manifest in genetic weakness and predisposition (this in turn due to diseases and deficiencies of our forebears) and our personal history from birth. Our current health status is rather like our bank account, it has a history of our transactions. Health status is built in layers as we grow up. A weak or toxic organ will produce toxic settlements, and tissue enervation in the body, a fever suppressed, leaves an unfinished situation, a period of overwork and stress combined with suppressive drugs, faulty cooking methods, ongoing poor mineralisation, all contribute in their own way to a gradual deterioration of our constitution, health reserves, and so on. This can be readily understood through the subject of iridology. The iris of the eye displays a map of the entire internal structure of the body. Various features such as dark lines and cloudy/stained areas have been found to be indicative of tissue health status. In the hands of a skilled iridologist, the eye can reveal accurate information about the past, present and future possibilities of health. As a person ages, tissue damage and toxicity increases. As a person engages in radical health regime the iris of the eye gradually returns to a former healthier state. Provided a complete nutrient-rich regime is adhered to and other necessary measures are taken, regeneration of health will occur.

Any person engaging in such a radical health reform, will not reach optimum health overnight, it is a reversing process that at times will bring layers of past ill health to the surface, so some old symptoms, often long forgotten, return, but usually only briefly. There will be times when toxins and catarrh held in tissues will be released into the circulation, prior to elimination, and this will give rise to periodic symptoms of un-wellnees, such as nausea, lightheadedness, feeling ‘spaced’ and fatigued, for example. Symptoms will vary, depending on the person . If these episodes are fairly marked they are labeled a healing crisis. It is important to be able to recognise the difference between a healing crisis and loss of balance or homeostasis. A healing crisis of varying degrees will occur after a period of feeling better than normal. In general (most of the time) the healing/regenerative process includes feeling better mentally and emotionally with an improved quality of sleep. There is often a felt need to rest or sleep more, since this is needed for the regenerative process; however once one has slept, energy and motivation is generally above normal.
Feeling better mentally and physically, with changing physical symptoms, often with increased bowel activity, are classic signs that a healing process is underway. There is always an emotional and mental component to any significant healing process, and at times this can be quite a dominant part of the experience of change. As mentioned earlier, if you have a weak nervous system, or suffer from generalised poor function/fatigue, the nervous system must heal first, before any progress is achieved. One can take herb’s and the best quality superfoods till the cows come home and not improve one iota until the nervous system is healing. As indicated, this will be apparent by generally feeling better emotionally and mentally (but not all the time) and better quality/more refreshing sleep. Taking herb’s and superfoods at the same time, also unnatural, unbalanced nutritional supplements, e.g. taking refined vitamin C (this is only found in the natural state with a wealth of minerals, e.g. 4mgs. vitamin C in a glass of grape juice), all multiply together to create a stimulation of the nervous system that prevents quality rest and repair. (e.g. the correct mixture of brain frequencies, with plenty of theta and alpha rhythms at night) It is worth mentioning at this point that a form of music (developed by the Monroe institute) that balances the left and right hemispheres of the brain, i.e. syncronises their electrical rhythms is available called meta music. Earphones must be used as the slightly out of sync frequencies delivered to each ear is what has the healing effect. This in turn reduces excess of the busy Beta frequencies and increases the healing Alpha, theta. and delta frequencies. It is called Meta music, and from my experience I can recommend it as not only a valuable healing modality for the nervous system, but for the whole system since as the brain is the body will follow. (Details of how to order from Regenerative Nutrition)
The only safe herb’s for the delicate/nervous type, are the calming ones like passiflora, hops, valerian etc. Reishi, I believe, from personal experience and from seeing its effect on others is the best ‘herb’ for the nervous system (plus balancing the immune system, please see article Reishi Mushroom the Marvelous Herb’ (available form Regenerative Nutrition) However if other stimulating remedies are added to these calming herb’s they will no longer work as nervine calmatives. If the molasses and sea water drinks are not taken for some time first, (e.g. a few weeks) the nervous/delicate types can still benefit from superfoods, but the dose is very low, usually in the region of one capsule or tablet (e.g. 200-300 mgs.) daily, either taken in divided doses or a.m. only. At the other end of the scale is the robust constitutional type, who will often do well on large doses of superfoods. The superfoods are completely nontoxic; large daily doses can be taken without harm, and some patients have done well at doses in the region of 50-100 tablets a day.
There are several pages of testimonials as to the beneficial effects of chlorella at large doses quoted in the book Chorella, Jewel of the Far East.by Bernard Jensen Ph.D. (highly recommended reading, available from Regenerative Nutrition) Many patients with serious, sometimes life threatening disorders have made a full recovery after taking chlorella at doses sometimes in the range of 50-70 tablets daily . This has occurred while being monitored by members of the Japanese medical profession, with X rays before and after to confirm the effects. The normal dose is in the region of 15 small tablets daily.
The Japanese are much more educated and aware about natural therapies than we in the west, and millions of Japanese take chlorella daily, it being the most popular health supplement there. Persons who are exerting themselves hard physically, are also generally able to accommodate higher doses of the superfoods.

I have read the books on chlorella and spirulina (especially Hawaiian spirulina) and taken both at different times. I feel that they are both wonderful substances that have their own sphere of action, backed up by lots of scientific investigation and clinical monitoring. However the law in this country states that no medical claims can be made for any substance by a supplier of that particular product if it is not licensed as a medicine. The expense of such licensing is very high, and since natural foods cannot be patented, the money could not be recouped. Only the large drug companies can afford this, with chemical derivatives, that can be patented. So this law suppresses public education on vital health matters, and keeps the natural remedies out of the Health service. Are we living in a sane world? Or one driven by big ‘bucks’

Other Essentials to Support the Healing/Regenerative process

  1. Water Also read Living Water
This everyday item is often overlooked. There is now virtually universal agreement amongst the health care professionals that we need to drink at least 3 pints of clean, pure water daily10. I was quite typical, in that I hardly ever used to drink water, only tea and coffee. As I encouraged myself to drink more water I found my lost instinct of the need for water returned. Tea and coffee cause the body to get rid of more fluid than is taken in, i.e. they are diuretic. So most of us are suffering from chronic dehydration without knowing it. Pure water is needed to help clean away metabolic toxins, and to carry the nutrients to the cells, with the correct dilution of the blood and extra cellular fluids. Some people find that the daily doses of sea water (not enough salt to cause dehydration, but the correct dilution and mix of many mineral salts to encourage correct fluid regulation) improve the desire for water, this often begins with a loss of ‘trapped’ fluid. There is then a greater turn over of fluid. Chronic dehydration has been linked to premature aging, cracking and drying of the skin, and plays its part in all disorders, in many people. Many naturopaths say drinking chilled water is bad, and slows down the digestive process. There are certainly many persons (chilly types especially) who are ‘injured’ by cold water. A traditional method of detoxifying the body is to drink one pint of hot water on rising each day. Personally I often warm all my water, as I know it suits my constitution. The best water we can drink is wild unpolluted river water, and other natural sources such as springs; so in practice non-carbonated spring/mineral water is best. Failing that, filtered tap water can be used. This will eliminate some of the cocktail of harmful chemicals that are in our water supply. Distilled water lacks minerals and oxygen, and carries the information pattern of the mains element used to boil it. (Personally I prefer heating water with a flame rather than using the electric kettle.)
When we take superfoods, herb’s, nutritional remedies, in fact engage in any therapy or activity that promotes change, the need for water drinking increases. Lack of sufficient water can be a block to therapy. Some people hate drinking water, this is indicative of part of their health disorder. However, drinking water and an adequate mineral supply are complementary, and taking in a full spectrum of minerals, as detailed in this article for example, may help to return the desire for water.
I have recently heard of quite a miraculous substance that keeps the tissues and cells hydrated, even into old age, where the destructive aspects of dehydration are all too obvious, as part of the degenerative process. The substance is called Hyaluronic acid. It is as essential component of collagen the ‘glue’ that binds the cells of the body together. H.A. for short, holds up to 1,000 times it’s own weight in water. It is present in high amounts in babies, and gives that soft hydrated look to the skin, and almost scarless healing. By the time we are elderly it is almost non-existent. It has many properties and overall it seems to exhibit wonderful anti-aging effects.
It is hoped this will soon be available from Regenerative Nutrition.
  2. Sources of Chi.
Chi, or life force energy, comes in many forms of energy such as different types of electrical currents in the body, electromagnetic energies form each cell and as the totality of the mixture of all the complex electrical currents and fields present within and surrounding the body. The ‘Chakras’ are energy vortex’s that are present along the length of the spine; their dysfunction, along with other electrical dysfunction’s have been proved to be predate the occurrence of physical disease. The health of the physical/bio-chemical body is dependent on the health of the ‘energy body’. The energy body is effected to a greater or lesser degree by nutritional supplements, thoughts and emotions and general lifestyle. Chi is partly regulated and conducted by the minerals and trace elements. It has been likened to a ‘biological electron’ , or ‘biotron’ as termed by Dr. Joanna Budwig. The term bio-photons has recently been employed. Some researches have suggested that food contains ‘bio-photons’ i.e. locked in sun energy, and that essential fatty acids that line every cell (a component of the cell membrane) are the receptors of this type of chi.

Chi is also contained in water, engendered by various factors such as sunlight and movement of water, locking in stored energy. Specialised photographic equipment can detect this energy in water. After water has been passed by a vortex energiser spiral device for putting energy back into water, after it has been lost by piping and storage) the bio-luminesence increases dramatically, making it appear similar to recently agitated water6. These devices are currently sold in the region of £100 or more. A more cost effective device, that has been in use for over 18 years, called the ‘Aqua-vortex’ is placed in a standard plastic funnel, and water and other drinks are poured through. These retail at around £12 each.5

The difference between ‘living’ and ‘dead’ water has been demonstrated by German scientists Wolfram and Theodor Schwenk through the drop picture method. The crystal particles in living ‘water’ form into spiral vortex patterns (implosion) normally associated with life and growth. In ‘damaged’ water (i.e. water that has been stored in a container, or passed through a pipe, and/or polluted with toxic chemicals.) the drop pictures show linear configurations, indicating ‘lifeless’ conditions. We now know this is partly explained by the presence or absence of bio-photons or bio-luminesence. (However, there may be some confusion in the terminology, that will not be resolved until we have a greater understanding of these energies, e.g. research with ‘Hunza’ type water has found its beneficial energies to be as the result of negative charges, i.e. electrons attached to the hydrogen within the water molecule, or the hydroxyl, OH – ion.)
I have spent a few months testing the Aqua-vortex device on myself, I have found it excellent for raising vitality when it is low. However, I have found, like with other energy devices, that over-stimulation or over-activity develops. This clearly demonstrates the law elucidated in the last century by Arndt. Arndts’ law states: that slight stimulants quicken vitality (the vital force); medium doses promote vitality; strong doses arrest it, and very strong doses destroy it. This is a very important point; if we overpower, we prevent healing and regeneration, there is no way round that one. So it is vital to get this point right. One has to learn when to give it a rest, and how many glasses a day to use, as previously discussed. I have developed a device, the result of looking into to this problem, periodically over several years and have developed a simple water energiser called the ‘bipolar water energiser’. This is based on my discovery that when water swirls anti-clockwise this is energising, and when it swirls clockwise it is calming. When these two energies are combined a completely new kind of feeling of energy is engendered. This can be simulated with copper coils. The device consists of a small funnel attached to two plastic tubes a few inches long; around each tube is a coil, one is clockwise and the other anti clockwise. Test established that 2 turns of wire gave a strength of energisation that could be tolerated on a daily basis without over stimulation, whereas 4 and 7 turn devices were found to be too strong for regular use, but may be more suitable for persons who chi is constantly drained and compromised by ‘geopathic stress’ that can result from trapped water under a house e.g. a poorly drained clay soil, or an underground stream. Geopathic stress is a serious issue and is usually present in serious chronic health disorders., especially cancer. Sometimes just changing the position of the bed or favorite arm chair can help, sometimes it is best to move home. There are various devices on the market that claim to neutralise geopathic stress, but it seems their effect is only temporary or partial, but they certainly do have some benefit. How much a 4 or 7 turn bipolar energiser will eliminate geopathic stress from an individual is as yet unknown.

There is a universal tendency for energy or chi in the organism to become self destructive. This is obvious in auto-immune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, M.E., asthma etc., but is actually an aspect of all chronic illness. Free-radical damage, thought to be a major factor in aging and chronic illness may also be understood as destructive energy. The father of Homeopathy, Samuel Hahnammen, came to the conclusion that the inherited tendency to disease was due to three different states, underfunctioning, overfunctioning or destructive energy, and overgrowth. Modern day electromagnetic stress will also tend to have a destructive energy effect. so, what actually is this destructive energy? This article does not permit the space to explore this more fully . In breif: energy or chi can become stuck or bad. It needs to move, flow through and be refreshed. The ancient gentle exercises involved in the practice of Tai Chi Chi Kung achieve this, and in turn improve health and total well-being. Even the most serious disease can be overcome with these simple, yet gentle exercises . A demonstration video called Tai Chi Chi Kung the art of cultivating the universal healing force for health and longevity, by Peter Hudson the renowned therapist / naturapath is available from Regenerative Nutrition.

With auto-immune disorders the destructive aspects of the immune system can be relieved by reminerlisation and also by colloidal silver. More and more auto-immune disorders are thought be due partly to virus or anaerobic bacteria or fungus in the system. By using adequate amounts of colloidal silver for example a glass a day (using a high quality form produced by high voltage multi-phasic d.c.) M.S. has been halted, and this applies to a greater or lesser extent with other auto-immune disorders. What appears to be happening is that chronic infection will keep the immune system hyped up, so that it attacks healthy cells, in the case of M.S. the nerve sheaf’s, and parts of the brain, in chrone’s disease, the bowel, in arthritis (especaily rheumatoid) the joints. A product called C.M.Plus can also help to calm an over destructive immune system in cases of arthritis especially (high quality colloidal silver and CM Plus available form Regenerative Nutrition.)

Minerals and trace elements do conduct and process the chi, but are not the total solution, especially as we do not generally sleep on the earth or walk barefoot on it, so trapped chi is more of a problem of the modern life style.

The inherited miasms of energy perversion discussed in this article can be overcome, I believe, by the proper remineralisation methods discussed in this article. The use of reishi mushroom seems to further aid balancing of the chi and bio-chemical system and in turn, will promote long term vitality and well being of the mind body and spirit.

There are many energy or chi enhancement devices available, including many ways of energising water but these should be used with caution, since in reality it is the movement and conduction of chi that is most important in preserving energy and well being. Applying chi on a regular basis when there is not a daily draining factor such as geopathic stress, more often than not leads to a build up of trapped chi. This can be destructive, initially it will lead to a feeling of being tired easily, and any progress one felt one was making with the nutritional programme will be lost. In the longer term auto-immune type problems can develop. If there is a device that can refresh and help the chi to flow on a daily basis, please let me know and I will start using it straight away ! In the mean time I will continue to practice Tai Chi Chi Kung.

In a natural state, such as taking fruit from the tree and eating it there and then, or drinking milk from a goat while still warm, or sipping from a flowing stream, there is life force energy present. There are quite a few researchers who suggest that assimilation of nutrients are improved when this energy is present in our liquid foods. Other sources of chi or natural energy can occur at certain locations, rocks etc., and conversely certain locations, (as previously mentioned) such as houses built over underground streams (much more common than realised) can have a draining effect on the natural chi from the inhabitants, as can various types of electromagnetic stress. However some people are considerably more immune to these negative environmental factors. I feel that this may be due to mineral status (persons of good constitution and health absorb and retain minerals more effectively). Conversely a person of low mineral and trace element status will not be able to process chi effectively. Such people of low vitality will generally not do well just by supplying them with more chi, as with superfoods, they will only respond positively on limited amounts. So just pumping in lots more chi via devices such as spiral or vortex energisers, orgone beams etc. is not a solution on its own. Even acupuncture treatment or any deep acting homeopathic remedies can react negatively on the delicate patient with a low mineral status. So to process chi we need the electrolyte or ionic minerals, and to a lesser extent the natural colloids in our water (i.e. clay) I have personally found, repeated, many times over several years that when rapid changes are taking place in the body such as from a recently introduced supplement that is very stimulating due to its need, and consequent ‘shift’ that occurs, or applying a source of chi, that at that point in time produces a good ‘shift’, then the need for ionic minerals (sea water concentrate 2 ) is increased. In these cases a dessert spoon of the ionic minerals (the type without the sodium chloride removed as discussed) in a pint of water up to three times daily for one or two days is of considerable benefit to help the shift. You can come to recognise the need for ionic minerals by personal observation. With myself it is a state of depression that is characterized by loss of volition , physical and mental energy and a desire for sleep. With other people it may only be felt as a certain type of lack of energy, or in some cases poor sleep rapid thoughts and general symptoms of excess brain activity. These contradictory states indicate the great stabilising effect of the sea water concentrate; i.e. overactive states tend to be balanced ‘down’ to normal and underactive states pulled ‘up’ to normal.

So with these considerations in mind, most of us need more chi, for optimum health, (especially negative charge) provided we are grounded with sufficient minerals and trace elements. Having tried out many ‘energy’ devices on myself over the years; the one I have found to be the least liable to cause over stimulation, and feels the most healing i.e. calming yet energising is the 11″ square positive energy plate.9 This can be placed under the mattress, when required. (If your chi is very low, or your bed is in a geopathic zone, you could probably benefit from it every night or for some time.) Any time you cannot sleep due to its stimulation, remove it from the room. It can also be placed behind the back whilst sitting, or under a cushion. As with all external energy sources try to learn to observe how much you need for best results. In cases where there is geopathic stress it is advisable to find the best place to sleep, and habitually sit; for often there are dangerous, energetically corrupt locations in a room that should be avoided. Can you find your best spot in such a situation? Some dowsers are able to correctly locate the worst areas in a room.

  3. Oxygen Therapies
I will not go into any details here about the scope and value of oxygen therapies as there are plenty of articles and books available on the subject concerning increasing the level of oxygen in the blood by various products and methods. The two points I wish to make are that (1) Damage to the cellular mitochondria occurs in almost all of us. Apparently mitochondrial DNA is far more vulnerable to damage than the DNA in the nucleus of the cell. Damage is caused by a variety of factors including free-radical damage, toxins, infection. As we age the mitochondria become progressively damaged and anyone with a chronic health problem will have some degree of mitochondrial damage. The mitochondria have been described as the biological spark plug for the cell, they process the oxygen in the cell and help the cell to metabolise nutrients and release energy for the entire functioning of the body. We see exceptional and consistent results in therapy by the use of a supplement to repair and maintain mitochondrial function. We consider this is essential in any regenerative/healing regime the product is called Zell-Oxygen.

Zell oxygen 2 a superior method of ‘oxygen’ therapy

When the mitochondria are functioning properly there will be activation of overall energy of the body, a strong active immune system and a good ability to heal/replace damaged cells and organs. This process is a corner stone of health. As we age the mitochondria get lazy. They can also be damaged by chemicals, pesticides and genetic defects. Because of this damage all kinds of illnesses have become prevalent such as cancer, mature diabetes, MS and Parkinson’s. Almost all our bodily functions are hindered by damage to this vital part of our cells and rob our organs of energy, giving rise to an increasingly lowered immune system as well as increasing the chances of tumor growth. The rate of aging is also increased by this damage. Due to a rapid turn over of our cells we may be cope with the occasional toxic dose of certain substances inhaled or ingested, however a continual onslaught as we experience now in our increasingly toxic world has a long term damaging effect on the mitochondria.
A well-known Professor in Portugal, Serge Jurasunas who has a successful natural health clinic uses Zell to treat chronically ill patients with much success, such as cancer, CFS, depression, schizophrenia and other forms of psychosis. People who suffer from CFS or M.E. are immensely helped by Zell. It is a tonic to the entire organism, a powerful antioxidant, increasing energy, accelerating hair-growth, and is described in a new book. The Earth on Which we Live’ under several headings, *
Zell is helpful in the reduction of Candida type symptoms, due to the action of the special live yeast cells. This may surprise some of you as most of us associate Candida with excess yeast. However, Zell is a saccharomyces cerevisaie yeast that is aerobic, as opposed to candida that is oxygen ‘hating’ . The zell yeast will take over the terrain where candida is resident, forcing this more primitive life form out of existence, and at the same time the improved cellular respiration and immune system will complete the work in re-balancing the inner terrain.
Zell it is manufactured in a unique way designed by Dr Wolz of Germany. He devised a special cold process, which enabled him to preserve the valuable enzymes inside the yeast cells. In each 10ml dose there are 50 billion bio-chemically active yeast cells. They are easily and quickly taken up by the small intestines, due to the thin walls of the yeast cells. Research undertaken in Utrecht, Holland, at The Institute of Molecular Cell Biology, proved that the thin walled yeast cells would have an immediate restorative effect on human cells. Rich in all B Vitamins as well as A, E, D, K, beta carotene, minerals, trace elements, and amino acids such as Methione, Gluthathione and Cysteine. Followed by Co enzyme A and Co enzyme Q 10. plus a number of other enzymes.
Zell has been used in competitive sports were sustenance was called for with much success. Zell is able to absorb the free radicals produced by such efforts of extreme endurance.
I have noted that supplements that directly supply oxygen lead to anxiety and insomnia for those with a weak nervous system. Zell, on the contrary is healing for the nervous system, essential for treating chronic fatigue and nervous and mental disorders, this is because the cause of low oxygen is dealt with rather than loading the blood with above natural amounts. It has been found that very small amounts of oxygen added to water, e,g, 3 drops of ‘Oxy-Boost 2 daily is sufficient to reactive the natural oxygen cycle in the extra cellular fluid, to make up for the lack of dissolved oxygen in our water, since we do not drink ‘wild’ river water that nature provides .
  4. Exercise
A certain amount of exercise is needed just to maintain a sufficient circulation of blood, and especially lymph, or extra cellular fluid. The lymph system does not have a direct connection to the pumping action of the heart it is pumped round the body; with the aid of muscular movement only. When people become sedentary, especially through illness the sheer lack of movement produces lymphatic stagnation, so the body in not able to properly clean itself or carry the nutrients, fluids, and oxygen properly. In practice this can account for as much of a health problem as the original problem, and tends to make the symptoms of the illness worse. There is a certain type of exercising, dubbed the healthiest exercise invented by man, that overcomes these problems, with as little as 5 minutes a day exercise. It is called rebounding. If you can walk at all, you can do it, no matter how weak or infirm, just do it to your own level and endurance time, .e.g. a minute at a time at first. Rebounding is undertaken on a ‘mini-trampoline’. The weak or infirm do not jump, but simply stand rocking up and down gently. As soon as any pain or strain is felt the exercise is discontinued. Endurance is gradually built up, e.g. one minute a few times a day to begin with. This method can often dramatically improve the health, including that of M.E. patients. It works by acceleration and de-acceleration causing the lymph fluid to be pumped round the body. It is best done to music and is fun, even for the exercise and discipline phobics!7
The most gentle form of exercise is the Tia Chi Chi Gong discussed under the Chi heading.
  5. Rest
Many of us underestimate the amount of sleep and rest we really need. There is a difference between getting by, and having sufficient sleep to more fully repair us each night; slowing down the destructive processes of aging. This oversight is understandable in the modern world of much activity and extending the natural day with artificial lighting. Again, by looking at the natural world, we see that primitive peoples in a less pressured society often take a nap in the day; just half an hour can make a difference. Most therapists recommend 8 hours sleep a night. Some persons find they feel bad if they sleep in the day. This feeling bad is the tip of the iceberg in the body trying to heal itself. Why not have another cup of coffee and feel better? Yes, many of us do use tea and coffee to try to keep awake, when the body wants to sleep! Poor nutrition, low chi, low oxygen atmospheres and blood sugar fluctuations (partly due to mineral and trace element deficiencies) can all be common contributing factors to sleepiness in the day.
Once the healing/regenerative process begins (if you have undertaken the correct regime) there will be times of greater alertness, creativity, and energy, but just as much the desire to rest and sleep will increase. Sleeping is not a waste of time, it is a valuable period of repair, and without repair there is not sufficient stored energy to enjoy life. Obviously if we have been not having the optimum amount or quality of sleep for some time, this deficit will have to be made up.
  6. Dose
Doses of herb’s when used as a course of treatment are generally within a certain range e.g. as directed, 2 or 3 capsules after meals, or if taking infusions, so many cups a day. If reactions are too marked, leaving off for a day or two and trying a smaller dose may be appropriate. However, as discussed earlier, the doses of superfoods are much more variable and you need to experiment with the dose range. For the average person, when starting spirulina or chlorella, unless you know you are especially sensitive to substances, start at half the full adult dose (or less if under the age of 10, or of a very light build). For chlorella this is 8 small tablets daily, i.e. one and a half grams, or with spirulina about 3 500 mg tablets daily. It is gentler on the system to take in divided doses, e.g. twice or three times a day. If you find you manage well on that dose, i.e. are sleeping as well or better, and feel as good or better mentally and emotionally most of the time, then after a week or so you could increase to the full dose. On the other hand if you are finding the action too strong for you and not sleeping so well, you can try taking the last dose no later than 2 p.m. (for example).

If the problem is ‘shutting-down’ at night, you may need to reduce the dose. As you get used to the superfood it will tend to be less stimulating, and your system will gradually be toned up, so that, over a period of several months all organs and systems will function more efficiently. This is provided, that you have a sufficient mineral/trace element base to work from (good constitution) and/or (preferably) take soluble ionic minerals and molasses as detailed in this article.

I believe I have produced two formulations that to some extent solve the problem of the need to take several remedies to provide a total, yet balanced regime, that will not overstimulate. The formulations are called Complete Nutrition Level 1 and Complete Nutrition Level 2. I encourage the reader to read my article on these 2. The ‘secret’ of this advance in nutrition incorporates the facts outlined in this article, about having the correct forms of mineral and trace elements complexes to support the superfoods and herbs contained in the formulae. The need for the correct amount of vitamin D daily is essential in countries that do not receive adequate sunlight, and where the populace do not generally expose themselves regularly to the suns rays. In such a situation, unless we take supplemental vitamin D. The correct amounts of vitamin D needed , and its safety are discussed in the book The Calcium Factor by William Barefoot already mentioned at amounts above the RDA; all so called toxicity studies were done on a perverted/artificial form of vitamin D and massive doses, resulting in false information being put out, sentencing millions to degenerative disease made worse by inability to absorb sufficient calcium. The mineral forms or groups in the complete nutrition formulas are ionic minerals (in powder form), pelvetia sea weed, superbiomin, and coral calcium incorporating a 2:1 ratio of calcium to magnesium, with many trace elements. Of course the correct amounts of vitamin is present, along with all the other vitamins required (except some persons have the need for sublingual vitamin B12) The full details of these formulas are discussed in the article Complete Nutrition. We have proved, however, to our satisfaction, as mentioned earlier that switching from coral calcium to molasses produces even better results, and we are in the process of setting up a manufacturing capability to remove the sugar and water from molasses so it can be incorporated into the complete nutrition formulas. These will be available some time in 2003.

If you are delicate, frail, or have a weak nervous system, or are a ‘difficult’ patient who has tried lots of therapies it may well be best for you to take no superfoods or herb’s or homeopathic remedies, nor acupuncture etc. until you have been taking the ionic minerals (inland sea water concentrate) for some time, e.g. a few weeks, and generally molasses. However where there is enervation and weakness, often due to mitocondrial damage as discussed (a typical M.E./ chronic fatigue patient) you may not have the vitality to process molasses until you have been taking the Zell- Oxygen for at least a week. This provision does not apply to the ionic minerals, since these do not require energy to process them. Once the basic nutritional groundwork has been done, the response to superfoods/herb’s will be completely different. The nutritional remedy lecithin will help repair the nervous system and cell membranes throughout the body. (don’t forget Reishi here)

A common mistake people who have a great desire to get well make, is to take several potent remedies at the same time, e.g. superfoods and herb’s with the mistaken notion that they must get nutrition ‘in’. Herb’s and superfoods combine to produce a greater stimulation than either items on their own. This potentially curative stimulation is the enemy of getting well, for many. You need to observe how you are responding with one remedy at a time. Once the nutritional/mineral trace element reservoir has been built up you may be able to tolerate a cocktail of herb’s and superfoods, but even then there is an optimum number and combination. It takes time, patience, and when in doubt, advice from the few people who understand these matters.

In the situation where one is not liable to over stimulation, where the overall vitality and the state of the nervous system is good, and preferably ionic minerals are being taken, then combinations can work well. Using either spirulina or chlorella, (or both) should be, in my opinion, the basis of any general regime to restore health, against a background of the mineral and trace element supplementation discussed. Herb’s may be added to advantage, but can be used at a lower dose. e.g. circulatory or digestive herb’s generally work well with other herb’s and superfoods.

    ADAPTING TO THE REGENERATIVE PROCESS.

Supplying the body with all the correct nutrients that it has not had before, will help the body to awaken to proper functioning, leading to, sooner or later, greater energy and well being; a more effective hormonal, circulatory, digestive and immune system. While this process of change is under way, old congestion’s, toxic material, will be pushed out of harms way into the blood for elimination via the skin, urine and feaces. So during this process, skin rashes or other manifestations may appear, also symptoms of a cold or even influenza like states can occur. If you use antibiotics, during this time, all you are doing is pushing the process back in, you can use colloidal silver at 10 mls 3 or four times a day during these periods if you are suffering from symptoms of infection, although it is often impossible for you to tell the difference between detoxification symptoms and an actual recent infection, so taking the silver, as it is harmless will resolve this dilemma. If you are in a period of releasing quite a lot of toxic material, even a fever can manifest, in such a situation, this is due to an improved immune response. Occasionally when persons are detoxifying, pain can arise, such as headaches, toothache etc. In this situation drink plenty of water, often warm water is better tolerated, drinking a pint of warm water will sometimes reduce pain. Silver and noni (A tropical healing fruit available as a juice or powder) often help relieve pain. Some persons with liver/gall congestion may experience some headaches and nausea problems, in situations such as these, a simple liver/gall flush can be taken first, read instruction sheet for Liver and Gall flush 2 Most persons will experience loose bowels for quite some time from the start of the regenerative programme, This is a natural reaction of the body, the most obvious aspect of the house cleansing that will take place.
Many persons will feel the need for more rest and sleep, try to give your body as much rest and sleep as it wants; most of us, in this modern world are chronically tired and have some rest to make up. Eventually your sleep will be more effective and refreshing. The more sensitive and observant of you, will notice a change in how you feel every day while on the regenerative programme; while the strong constitutions and robust will move towards a higher level of health in an uneventful manner.
If you find at any time that any health problems you have, temporally get worse, or you feel some degree of discomfort, you may choose to stop taking the supplement(s) for one day, if the adaptation difficulty resumes within a day or so, if you feel you would like to slow the pace of detoxification / adaptation, then discontinue for a day and resume at a lower dose level. e.g.. if you have been taking the full adult recommended dose of your regeime or any individual supplement in question, reduce to half dose for a few days or a week, then increase back up to the full amount.

As discussed, however, the adaptation response still occurs, this is a series of reactions that the body is expressing as it gradually moves itself towards higher levels of health, when disease tends to drop away. There is a law of healing that states “Healing proceeds from above downwards, from within out, and symptoms disappear in the reverse order to when they arose”
In practice this means that external symptoms such as a discharge, runny nose, or temporary skin rash are the result of the morbid aspects being pushed outwards. Old, long established symptoms will be the last to go, whereas more recent problems tend to resolve first. Also symptoms we may not have experienced for years may return, albeit briefly as the layers of internal disorder are resolved. It is sufficient to have faith that the many symptoms we may experience, are the result of our bodies own natural intelligence, repair and re organisation, while undergoing the regenerative process.

  7. Diet (See also the article You are what you eat)
There are many types of diets advised for improving health, and in reality, different types of constitution will do better on their own constitutional type of diet. This may be found instinctively, or by studying the relevant literature available. (Eat Right 4 your type by Dr. Peter J D’adamo ISBN 0-399-14255-X Pub by G.P. Putnam’s Sons: highly recommended, links suitable foods to 4 basic blood types. My advice is to combine this knowledge with your own instinctive feelings, i.e. no need to pedantically follow the details, but to experiment, and find what is right for you) There is a common theme running through almost all diets to achieve and maintain good health. (1) Eat only wholesome food that has not been processed, that has not had things added to or taken away and is as close a possible to its natural state. (2) Eat an alkaline forming diet. Proteins tend to be acid forming, also refined sugar, refined flour products, white bread, cakes, biscuits etc. whereas fruits and vegetables especially, by virtue of their mineral content, tend to alkalise the system. The general guide is two thirds fruits and vegetables and whole grains, and no more than one third concentrated protein, such as cheese, eggs, meat and fish, although fish is less acid forming than meat, and if coming from the sea will contain more trace minerals.
There seems to be a general lack of awareness about the importance of how one cooks. This is as important, as what one cooks. Steaming vegetables at any pressure (i.e. pressure cookers) will destroy many of the vitamins and should not be used. Steaming in a saucepan with an inner basket may seem preferable to boiling, but look at the vegetable juice left behind in the water. The steam soaks the vegetables, and dissolves the most soluble vitamins and minerals, especially that vital element, potassium, and transports them to the water in the bottom of the saucepan. This is thrown down the sink. This is as important a method of demineralising the body as is boiling vegetables. If you can obtain organic fruit and vegetables then do not peel, as there is a preponderance of certain nutrients in and just below the skin. There is an old folk remedy for arthritis; using the peelings of potato, boiling, then drinking the water only.

There are several ways round this problem of keeping the cooking water apart from just drinking it! One is; when cooking items that absorb water, such as rice, beans or lentils, to add the correct amount of water at the beginning and either add the vegetables to the boiling contents, so at the end of cooking all the water is soaked into the rice or legume, or to place a steaming tray above the rice, etc. and use the steam from that to cook the vegetables. Another method (works best with a thick cast iron saucepan) is to fry the vegetables over a very low flame with olive oil (olive oil is one of the few oils that tends not to become toxic when heated) until par cooked, then add a small amount of water, place on lid, and cook very slowly, this really is a combination of cool frying roasting and steaming, without loss of valuable nutrients. Another method is, of course, to bake, or casserole. If well fitting tops are used on casserole dishes then less steam is lost, often just an onion or two will produce enough moisture to steam the food, if you decide not to use oil. If you do fry, keep the heat very low, so that little browning takes place, use a lid to keep in the steam released from the food to aid the cooking process. Heating food in oil does destroy some of its nutritive value especially lecithin. The oil will contain valuable oil soluble nutrients, and since olive oil is not fattening and is a ‘health food’ pour this on your plate as well. Finally you can boil with a limited amount of water plus a lid, so that any uncovered food is still cooking, and if any water is remaining at the end of cooking add a little thickening such as maize or corn flower, freshly ground oats, or a little wholemeal wheat flower etc. to absorb the water.

    Microwave Cooking
From the foregoing suggestions about avoiding nutrient loss it could be deduced that microwave cooking may be the best method. Many people instinctively feel that microwaves damage food, whilst others feel that if they are in use they must be safe, and that the effects on food quality must have been thoroughly checked out. In reality there have been no long term tests on the health of individuals eating a diet of largely microwave cooked food, just as with genetically engineered food.
Further more when an independent study was undertaken and showed rapid deterioration of the blood quality of the volunteers, the industry suppressed this report, by legal means through the Swiss courts. Recently an appeal to the European court of human rights has reversed this decision. The study was carried out by Swiss biologist Dr. H. U. Hertel and Prof. Bernard Blanc. Their study on the effects of microwave food on human subjects in comparison to conventionally cooked food proved that the microwave cooked food caused significant changes in the blood of all the test subjects. The scientists noted that these changes, some of which were highly significant, indicated the beginning of pathological changes, e.g. the beginning of cancer. The study took place over a few weeks.

The anthroposophist A. Bohmert found that seeds soaked in previously microwaved water (and allowed to cool) would not germinate, whereas the same seeds soaked in the water that had not been microwaved, germinated successfully. Microwave cooking works by induced oscillation of the molecules of the food in the region of a thousand million times a second. This caused friction at the molecular level and results in heat. This process damages some of the food, reduces nutritional content and produces toxic by products that encourage disease. A study on milk, conducted in Vienna, that had been subject to microwave heating, showed that high razemization rates in proteins in the milk that was not observed in conventional cooking. Are Microwave Ovens a Source of Danger? by Marion Wild is worth reading11. Personally I feel there is only one sensible way to use a microwave oven, and that is to dump it, first having smashed it up to prevent anyone else using it!

Many naturopaths and therapists recommend raw food. I believe it is generally a good move to include more raw food in the diet if it has been a largely cooked one, but it depends on the time of year, and your constitution. Cold food does not suit everyone, and in some can cause health problems. (grating raw vegetables, mixing with grated nuts and a little olive oil and warming, not cooking is an example of the sort of creative change we can make) Certainly raw nuts and seeds eaten daily will make up for a great universal deficiency in essential fatty acids and other important nutrients lost in cooking. These can conveniently be ground with an electric grinder etc. and added to food, such as oats and raisins, soaked in water, with live yogurt and fruit added, a highly recommended breakfast.

Raw food is not the be-all and end-all and many a person has struggled to get well, and failed on a raw food diet. Fasting on grapes, as detailed in the grape cure is recommended periodically. Obviously living in a hot climate lends itself to the vibrancy and purity of eating freshly picked raw fruit as a large part of one’s diet.

    Food combining
There are systems of diet based on what food is eaten with what, so as to facilitate efficient digestion, such as the ‘Hay diet’. The most important point is that proteins and starches require acid and alkali digestive juices respectively and that eating any quantity of both at the same time will tend to neutralise these opposite juices, rendering digestion ineffective. Efficient digestion is important for overall health. The main points are (1) don’t eat a large portion of protein with a large amount of starch, e.g. potatoes and meat, or fish and chips. Try to keep proteins and starches to separate meals, also starchy/pastry puddings are incompatible with protein first courses.

A handy tip I read in ‘ The Eye of Revelation’ by Peter Kelder (thoroughly recommended, discusses the five rights rejuvenation exercises) I s based on the observation that foods do not mix thoroughly is the stomach, so that the order of eating foods is very significant for overall efficiency of digestion. The rule is to eat the most easily digested and watery foods first and the more concentrated more slowly digested foods last. Meat , eggs, cheese and fish should be eaten last and vegetables next, with fruits first. This method is described in grater detail in the book.

Good Digestion (See also the article on Kombucha Tea)
Drinking tea or coffee, or a glass or more of water with a meal will dilute the gastric juices, rendering digestion inefficient. However, drinking one or two glasses of water (not chilled) half hour to one hour before a meal can improve digestive efficiency, as well as being part of your dehydration. Meals that really fill you up are too big for adequate digestion. Eating late in the day i.e. a main meal less than 3 hours before you go to sleep is also harmful to the digestion, and hence overall health, since during sleep the digestive process slows down, producing fermentation, (or putrefaction if you have eaten proteins) Eating in a relaxed manner, slowly with lots of chewing, is the way to aid digestion. It is advisable to wait at least one hour and a half after food before drinking much liquid, although a wine glass amount of liquid, provided it is not chilled will probably not be a matter for concern.

Digestive enzymes are important for efficient digestion. Raw foods supply these, but cooking destroys them. In such a situation we rely on our bodies ability to manufacture digestive enzymes. As we advance in years and as general health deteriorates the body produces less of these essential enzymes. This is one of the major causes of chronic and serious disease. For example the pancreas secretes enzymes to digest protein, as these fail, eating cooked protein (this applies even to a vegetarian diet) can lead to an accumulation of undigested protein in the system and also to a failure to digest ‘rouge protein’ cells within the body; this has been proven to be one of the major causes of cancer (as has lack of cellular respiration due to mitochondria damage, general acidity due to calcium and other mineral deficiencies, a proliferation of fungus in the blood, and a lack of vitamin B 17 in the diet, apricot kernels being the easiest way to provide B17)

My personal favorite method of taking enzyme supplement is to use a heaped teaspoon of dried mature green Papaya in a little water before each cooked meal. Mature green papaya contains a far higher degree of enzymes that the ripe papaya. The article ‘Twelve points on mature green Papaya’ by Dr. John Whitman Ray is recommended reading .
